Social media and the platforms that we use every day provide numerous tools that can help us manage and use the information we find on the internet or on these platforms themselves. These tools can help you store, share and save content and information, if you wish. Mostly all social media platforms have developed into a place with endless amounts of information available to online users and tools to do what we want with it.
There are several independent tools one can use to organise their information such as ‘Drop Box’ or ‘Google Drive’ and manage your information e.g. ‘Falcon.io’ which combines all of your accounts into one, in order to “manage social more efficiently”. There are ways within social media sites where we can store posts, photos, names, pages etc. that can be seen by everyone or stored privately. The information we find on social media can be used for surveys, studies, market research projects etc. This information is public and easily accessible so it can be used for the benefit of companies or researchers. Overall, social media is essential for helping people use and manage the information we find online, in a casual, every day or educational way.
